With only two weeks left to pass pension relief for quasi-governmental agencies before their required contribution spikes drastically on July 1, one local lawmaker has become more frustrated with the process.
Governor Matt Bevin vetoed the bill passed by the 2019 session of the General Assembly and has said he will call a special session once there’s enough support to pass his proposed legislation.
Senator Whitney Westerfield of Christian County says there’s been work to find compromise, but the governor will likely place blame on legislators if a solution isn’t found before the end of the month.
He says it’s been a frustrating process.
