Two arrested in Central City in meth trafficking investigation

The Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force has charged two Indiana residents with trafficking in methamphetamine after a pound of meth was found during an investigation in Central City.

According to a news release, the Task Force went to Central City Tuesday after receiving information from the DEA and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department that a large amount of meth was being sold in the area. A joint operation was done on a local motel and contact was made with 29-year old Kristopher Washington and 28-year old Lauren Williams, both of Indiana.

A K-9 alerted on the vehicle they were operating, and a search reportedly revealed approximately a pound of meth, pills and a small amount of marijuana. Both were arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The methamphetamine recovered had a street value of over $40,000.00. Officers believe the above subjects may have sold between 14 and 20 pounds of crystal methamphetamine in the last two weeks, with a street value of near 1 million dollars.
