The Hoptown Hoppers ended a three game losing streak with a 6-4 win over the Paducah Chiefs last night. The Chiefs led 3-0 after four innings before the Hoppers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks in part to a two run single by Brennan Crooms. Paducah would score a run in the 7th to take a 4-3 lead with the Hoppers tying the game in the bottom of that inning as Seth Bennett’s single brought home Robbie McCargar who doubled to lead off the inning.
Hoptown then would score twice in the bottom of the 8th to get the win. Crooms and Bennett would finish with two hits each. Wyatt Stevenson in relief of Lane Diuguid would get the pitching win. The Hoppers are 2-3 while the Chiefs are 4-1.
Game two of the four game home stand is scheduled for tonight as Henderson comes to town for Throwback Thursday sponsored by Papa John’s at 7:05, with pregame at 6:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.
