HCA sends Class of 2019 into the world

Heritage Christian Academy graduated its Class of 2019 Thursday night at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

The 36 seniors combined to receive just under $782,000 in scholarship money offers, not including state lottery scholarships and federal grants.

Valedictorian Rose Nelson and Salutatorian Allie Maternowski gave the senior address together, with Maternowski reminding her classmates that they cannot make it through life’s hard times alone.

Nelson urged the Class of 2019 to never settle for less than their best.

Living Hope Baptist Church Pastor Darrel Crawford is the parent of HCA senior Larry Austin Crawford and gave the keynote address. He pleaded with the seniors to bond with others of faith in their next phase of life and to remain strong in their convictions.

Kaley Wadlington and Matthew Nason were named the 2019 Warriors of the Year.
