A man sought in connection with a hit and run and multiple vehicle thefts in Clarksville was arrested by the Clarksville Police Department and charged with multiple offenses.
According to a news release, officers apprehended 32-year old Dustin Williams in the Woods Road area Friday. Williams had been sought in connection with a vehicular assault where he had fled a gas station on Lowes’ Road and struck a female victim in the parking lot, sending her to Tennova Health Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Williams was allegedly observed on Sulphur Springs Road in one of the three reported stolen vehicles. When deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, he drove off at high rate of speed eventually dumping the vehicle in the Cumberland River and fled on foot.
Williams was taken into custody and charged with two counts of felony theft of a vehicle and fleeing or evading police.
