Murray State coach Mitch Stewart announced the dismissal of Corey Newble on Sunday for violation of team rules. WPSD-Paducah reports the Jackson, TN native was arrested early Saturday morning on several drug related charges including trafficking in marijuana, possession of cocaine and trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school.
Newble did not play in the 2018 season according to his bio on Murray State’s football website.
