Although she now has a different job title, one time Solar Eclipse Coordinator Brooke Jung was awarded by NASA Friday for her efforts during the 2017 total solar eclipse.
Jung received the Group Achievement Award from NASA’s Engineering and Safety Center for her contributions to the Marshall Space Flight Center Solar Eclipse Science Team. At a special announcement, Mayor Carters Hendricks said, “We are excited for Brooke that her hard work has been recognized by such a distinguished organization as NASA. Brooke did a tremendous job organizing our Eclipse efforts and continues her outstanding work at the Convention and Visitors Bureau.”
To WHOP News Jung says, “I am beyond honored by this recognition. It is truly a testament and celebration of the entire community coming together! How incredible to be recognized for our exemplary implementation of NASA’s Core Values: excellence, integrity, safety and teamwork.”
The award, presented by NASA Heliophysicist Mitzi Adams, is in recognition of outstanding accomplishment through the coordination of individual efforts that have contributed substantially to the success of NESC’s mission.
