Bryan kicks off campaign, calls for ‘taxpayer revolt’

Calling for a ‘taxpayer revolt’ and promising to be a ‘people over projects mayor,’ former Hopkinsville mayor Wally Bryan kicked off his campaign to regain that seat Thursday night.

Comparing himself to the famous racehorse Seabiscuit, Bryan says he will be the comeback candidate.

He says his administration would focus on making Hopkinsville a ‘jobs city.’

Bryan says he would partner with other agencies in the community and take a hands-on approach to make unemployed citizens more employable.

Two adults he helped mentor through the Jobs for Life program spoke on his behalf and Bryan says having a work over welfare mindset will improve every facet of Hopkinsville.

Bryan criticized current mayor Carter Hendricks for what he calls ‘runaway debt’, said these are perilous times and that he believes the ‘winds of change are blowing.’

Bryan faces Hendricks, Democrat Jason McCraw and independent Walter Shamble in the general election.
