The public is invited to participate in NatureFest Week starting September 9, but there will be a proclamation declaring it such on Wednesday.
According to a news release, the Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Council and Jeffer’s Bend Steering Committee will be on hand September 5 when Mayor Carter Hendricks and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble declare it NatureFest week. The reading will take place 12 p.m. at the center.
There will be a week full of activities, including trail walking on Monday, garden tours of a variety of gardens Tuesday, while Wednesday and Thursday are for the bird lovers and those wanting to learn more about them and Friday is for learning all about Jeffer’s Bend and its programs.
The week culminates with NatureFest on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., which includes over 40 activities for families to do and this year’s festival will focus on health and wellness.
