The Owensboro River Dawgs evened the Ohio Valley League championship series at one game each with a 6-0 victory over the Hoptown Hoppers last night at Colonel Field. It was a scoreless game until the sixth inning when Owensboro got the first run on an RBI single from Nick Sanders that scored Jakob Shuler. The Dawgs would score again in the 8th as Jakob Shuler hit a two run home run off reliever Matt Keane, then Austin Peterson would hit a solo shot off Hopper reliever Ethan Clark. Owensboro would score two more runs in the ninth.
The Hoppers were held to six hits with Cole Cummings having two of them. Sage Holderfield took the pitching loss despite going six innings, allowing a run on three hits, striking out 12 and walking five. Hoptown is now 26-21 while Owensboro is 33-15.
