The 400 Mile Yard Sale, the event spans U.S. 68 across Kentucky and brings bargain hunters to the region every year, is officially underway as of Thursday morning.
Not only locals takes part in the yard sales, as is the case with Alabama native Jessica Billingsley, who is helping man a yard sale at the Senior Citizen’s Center on West Seventh Street in Hopkinsville. She says she comes up every year not only sell things but also take part in the sales all weekend, which is a family tradition.
She says she looks forward to the 400 Mile Yard Sale every year, both for the bargains on a variety of things and the fun they have meeting new people.
Billingsley helps run the booth with her parents, who make wooden artwork and more—they can also be found on Facebook at Wood Signs & Such.
A map of registered sales in Christian, Todd, Trigg and all counties along the route is available at 400mile.com. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reminding motorists on US 68 to use abundant caution this weekend. Be alert for slow-moving traffic and for automobiles stopping at sales and other vendors.
