Local man arrested on drug, tampering charges

The Hopkinsville Police Department arrested a local man Wednesday on several charges, including possession of synthetic drugs and tampering with evidence.

According to the police report, officers responded to Taco Bell for reports of a man screaming hysterically and shouting for police. Upon arrival, the man was gone but after receiving another call, this time from Jennie Stuart Medical Center, he was located in the emergency room.

Contact was made with a woman he told officers 34-year old Paul Sierra of Lafayette had consumed “spice” and had become out of control. Video surveillance allegedly showed Sierra dropping a baggie of suspected synthetic marijuana outside of the hospital before entering.

Sierra was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of synthetic drugs and public intoxication. He was additionally served with warrants out of Florida for violent charges.
