Scott Schebler’s two-run homer in the sixth snapped a 4-all tie as the Cincinnati Reds rallied for a 7-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Adam Duvall tied the game with a grand slam in the fourth as Cincinnati avoided a three-game sweep.
The Reds are off today before opening a series tomorrow night at San Diego.
Elsewhere in the National League: The St. Louis Cardinals gave up two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and lost 3-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers. St. Louis begins a weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight at Busch Stadium.
Javier Baez staked the Chicago Cubs to a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning, but they would not score again in a 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh. The Cubs visit the Mets starting tonight.
The Atlanta Braves were held to five hits in a 4-1 loss to the New York Mets. Atlanta welcomes the Washington Nationals to Sun Trust Park beginning this evening.
