In 2025, tourism spending in Christian County set a record, and Visit Hopkinsville Executive Director Amy Rogers spotlighted the milestone at Thursday’s Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club meeting.
This is the fourth consecutive year where local tourism spending has risen reaching $245 million, a $1.6 million increase from 2024. Last year, tourism also generated $47.3 million in labor income, $16.4 million in state and local taxes and supported 1,798 jobs.
Rogers says all the tourism dollars generated in Christian County was spent at local businesses, restaurants and hotels that welcomed visitors.
Then, in 2025 Kentucky had another record-breaking year for tourism revenue, generating $14.6 billion and having 81.1 million visitors.
Along with the hard work of her agency, Rogers credited the community for supporting tourism efforts. She says community members have been welcoming and helpful to folks who are new to Christian County.
While 2025’s tourism numbers were just released earlier this month, Rogers already has her eyes on tourism output in 2026. She has dubbed this year, “The Year of the Conferences” as four state conferences have been hosted in Hopkinsville and a couple more are on the calendar.
At these conferences, Rogers says Visit Hopkinsville promoted local businesses and destinations that attendees can explore.
