Former CCHS football star Trice waived by Steelers

ESPN is reporting that former Christian County High School football star Cory Trice Jr., was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday.

Trice battled knee and hamstring injuries for the last three seasons, playing in only six games for the Steelers.

The cornerback was drafted out of Purdue in the seventh round in 2023. He missed his rookie season due to a torn ACL.

In his NFL debut in 2024, Trice picked off Denver Broncos’ quarterback Bo Nix for his first career NFL interception. However, he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of action until December.

Ahead of the 2025 season, the Steelers placed Trice on the injured reserve/designated to return list with a hamstring injury. However, in November the team decided not to activate the former Colonels’ star, which ended his season.

Trice finished his career with the Steelers with six games, 21 tackles, one interception, and two pass defenses.
