The Hopkinsville High School boys’ track team are waking up as the Class 2-A, Region 1 champions this morning.
The Tigers grabbed the region title Tuesday night at Jack D. Rose Stadium in Murray.
According to a report in the Murray Ledger and Times, the Tigers edged Paducah Tilghman 138-123 to take the championship. Both teams advance to the Class 2-A State Championship next week in Lexington.
Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers took home a runner-up finish in the girls’ Class 2-A, Region 1 Meet.
Calloway County won 14 of 18 available events and claimed its sixth straight girls’ regional title with 218 points. Hoptown was second with 89 and also will be heading to Lexington next week.
