Alyssa Petterson and Talyn Ezell had RBI-singles in the bottom of the sixth inning and sent host Christian County to a 4-2 high school softball win over Madisonville-North Hopkins Tuesday night.
Madisonville scored a run in the top of the second and the lead stuck until the bottom of the fifth when a pair of Lady Maroons’ errors allowed the Lady Colonels to take a 2-1 advantage.
Madisonville tied the game in the top of the sixth.
However, Petterson and Ezell came through with run-scoring hits and Jordan Turner shut down the Lady Maroons in the seventh to preserve the win.
Turner tossed a 2-hitter and struck out five to earn the pitching win.
Christian County improved to 12-6-1 and is scheduled to play host to Lyon County on Thursday.
