Sprocket to set up in Hopkinsville to help build up entrepreneurs, small businesses

Hopkinsville will soon be the new home to a branch of Sprocket, which is a Paducah-based network of western Kentucky innovators and entrepreneurs, and they’re coming to the Murray State University campus in Hopkinsville.

According to a news release, Sprocket is coming to Hopkinsville thanks to a partnership with Murray State University, the Christian County Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, with the goal of strengthening entrepreneurial support in Christian County and surrounding areas.

Programs will launch on November 20 at the Murray State campus in Hopkinsville, with a grand opening celebration that will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first Entrepreneur Support Coffee Hour and a Build What Works Lunch and Learn. The campus is providing space to host these programs, which are designed to help founders transform ideas into successful businesses through one-on-one coaching and learning.

The Coffee Hour starts at 8 a.m., and then the ribbon cutting will take place at 10:30 a.m., before the lunch and learn will start at noon.

Sprocket’s mission is to create, recruit, and build scalable businesses for the innovation economy across Western Kentucky’s 22-county region.
