Western Kentucky State Fair gearing up for return in June

Summer is finally starting to make itself known as we head into June—and that means its nearly time for the Western Kentucky State Fair.

Speaking with WHOP on Friday, Fair Board Chair Kent Boyd says they’re excited to bring the fair back to the community for its 74th year, saying they’ve managed to keep it affordable for all these years and they’re not stopping now, keeping entry into the fairgrounds in Hopkinsville at $3.

He says all the usual favorites—tractor pulls, the demolition derby, carnival rides, petting zoo, music, competitions and more will be back in full swing, along with plenty of food options to choose from. And this year, they’ll have a show on the very first night, which starts June 20.

The fair will run from June 20 through June 28, and Boyd invited every one to come check out the work and upgrades that have been done at the grounds and the convention center.
