One precious perspective is making the Ag. community brighter

Agriculture provides a unique environment for connecting—at least that’s young farmer Addison Lawson’s opinion about the industry.

In the heart of Spencer County, Lawson has focused her talents on supporting the local agriculture community, a field she knows well. Lawson’s deep agricultural roots are thanks to her involvement in both FFA and 4-H, while also working on her family’s cattle operation, supplying quality beef directly to consumers.

During Lawson’s life, she has been able to make a colorful resume for herself by attending the Institute of Future Agriculture Leaders in the summer and the Nebraska Youth Beef Leadership Symposium in the fall. She says the best thing she walked away with was the connections.

With extensive leadership experience under her belt, Lawson will undoubtedly continue to play a role in her family’s operation and beyond. Recently, Lawson has taken on more responsibility to help grow the business, and she says an important aspect of their operation is telling people about what the best in beef production can look like.

Down the road, Lawson is looking to expand her reach by dedicating her time to supporting farmers’ mental health needs. Lawson says agriculture means family, and she wants to take some of their stress by possibly becoming a counselor.

The foundation of the agriculture industry is the people, Lawson says, as they have created valuable communities and friendships within the industry and it’s important we treasure this special environment.
