It’s time for the 74th annual WHOP Rotary Radio Auction, as things get off with a bang this evening at the War Memorial Building in Hopkinsville.
You can listen to the action live on 98.7 Lite FM, with the live auction set to begin at 6 p.m. and go until about 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Auction Chair Kelly Gates—who coined the theme “Purposeful Pathways”—says they’re excited to begin, with sponsorship opportunities still available to those interested.
She says this year sees the return of their diner and sweetshop, so people can come get lunch and dinner while supporting local youth looking to attend college. A big fundraising aspect for the Rotary Scholars program during this week is also the Hour Club, with Gates saying the cost to cover one tuition hour for students is $186—though they’ll take any donation amount.
Gates gave a quick run down on just some of the items up for grabs this week—people can bid on them by going online, calling Rotary at 270-886-3034 during the live auction, or going in person.
Not only can you listen live on WHOP, you can watch via Spectrum channel 376 or watch on the Hopkinsville Rotary website.
