Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fort Campbell man for evading law enforcement following a vehicle pursuit in Oak Grove early Sunday morning.
According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, Tyreek Collier of Fort Campbell was witnessed driving on Fort Campbell Boulevard and was reaching speeds between 94 MPH and 100 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The responding deputy attempted a traffic stop on Collier’s vehicle, but he reportedly fled.
While evading law enforcement, Collier allegedly drove recklessly almost colliding with another vehicle and narrowly missing a pedestrian changing a flat tire. After a momentary pursuit, Collier’s vehicle reportedly left the roadway hitting a street sign and a stop sign before going airborne and landing in a wheat field.
Collier was then transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center to receive medical clearance before being booked in the Christian County Jail.
Collier was charged with speeding, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, racing a motor vehicle on a public highway, first-degree wanton endangerment and failure to produce an insurance card. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oak Grove Police Department.
