Public Library ready for reading, renovations this summer

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is heading into the summer with thoughts of reading and renovations on their minds.

Appearing on WHOP recently, Executive Director Tiffany Luna and Coordinator Mary Alice Jasper say they’re excited about some upgrades coming the library that everyone can enjoy. Luna says they’ll be redoing their elevator to make it more user friendly and they’ll be moving the children and teen areas to the second floor.

She says the whole second floor will get a new look, and adult services will be on the first floor.

The library’s Summer Reading program kicked off on Saturday and Jasper says they hope a lot of people will spend some time reading this summer, no matter what that reading maybe—they don’t supply reading lists, you log the time you spend reading each day.

The Summer Reading program is for people of all ages, from those just learning to read the words and those who have been enjoying the stories you can find in books for many years.
