Hopkinsville Community College celebrated and wished their graduates good fortune during two commencement ceremonies held Friday afternoon.
Around 345 students applied for 699 credentials, including 202 two-year degrees, 21 diplomas and 404 certificates. HCC President and CEO Dr. Alissa Young thanked them for choosing Hopkinsville Community College, saying all the staff are proud of their accomplishments and are eager to see where they go from here.
Student Government President Esther Ebbay told her fellow graduates to stay true to who they are, no matter where their lives take them, and always hold admiration for their accomplishments.
Ebbay was also presented with the prestigious Spirit Cup Award—to be eligible for the Spirit Cup, the student must meet exacting criteria including, be graduating with an associate degree, be actively involved in the college, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and have demonstrated leadership ability.
Two students were named to the 2022-23 KCTCS All-Academic Team—Jaylan Renna, representing transfer associate degree students and Andrew Greene, who represented technical/occupational program degree students.
