The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville recently got a visit from Gateway Academy scholars and learned more about the facility that’s preparing students for the future.
Known as the Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology, Principal Penny Knight says they focus on offering students multiple career pathways to pursue and learn about, which in turn sets them up for success once they leave the Christian County Public School System.
She thanked Rotary for their tremendous help in being able to provide these options to students, and says they have tremendous support in the community.
Christian County High School Senior Amari Stubbs says Gateway has taught her numerous life skills, from how to change a tire to writing a resume, while also helping her get the experience and education in the career she intends to pursue.
Gateway Academy offers career paths in health, engineering of multiple types, computer science and technology, agriculture, welding, robotics, education, electrical and construction and more—it offers those pathways to the 1,247 students currently enrolled there.
