Fire damaged a home early Tuesday morning near Elkton.
The Elkton Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home on fire about 4:20 a.m. at 2760 Miler Valley Road and found heavy smoke coming from the residence.
Officials say a team made entry and discovered heavy fire in the kitchen beside and behind the stove, which was quickly extinguished. The fire did not spread beyond the kitchen but there was heavy smoke and heat damage to the entire structure.
No injuries were reported in the incident and the Red Cross was called to assist the displaced woman and her pet.
The Todd County Burden Bearers chaplain service also assisted.
