Clifty man accused of running over man with car

A Clifty man was arrested by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office for felony assault Thursday after he allegedly ran over a man with his a car.

An arrest warrant for 43-year old Johnny Dukes of Clifty says Joshua Liggons walked to his driveway just before 11 a.m. to ask for a ride to Hopkinsville for a job interview and that Dukes then intentionally ran him over with his Volkswagen Beetle.

Dukes fled the scene on Heltsley Lane toward Greenville Road and was arrested later in the afternoon for first-degree assault.

Liggons was able to walk back to his mother’s home, but sustained a broken collar bone, in addition to multiple scrapes and lacerations and was taken by EMS to Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

Dukes was lodged in the Todd County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
