Grace and Mercy celebrated the success of multiple graduates of the program Thursday night with their annual graduation fundraiser.
Grace and Mercy is a faith-based recovery program for women that serves women from across multiple counties and states, based in Christian County. It’s been changing the lives of women that battle with addiction for years, and they held their seventh graduation Thursday where three graduates proclaimed victory in that fight—Jessica Lutrell, Krista Ashby and Andrea Breedlove.
Lutrell says her recovery wouldn’t have been possible without the staff at Grace and Mercy and the Lord forever in her corner.
Ashby says she had gone down a wrong path in her life, but she’s more than ready to move forward on the right one.
Breedlove says she’s finally gotten her life back, and she owes it all to Grace and Mercy, her family and the Lord.
Grace and Mercy is looking to expand their operations into a second home that can act as transitional housing for their occupants. They’re looking for the community’s help to raise funds, but they’ll accept donations of any kind, from furniture to paintings to cookware and more. Grace and Mercy operates several thrift stores throughout the region, which helps raise funds to support the many programs they offer, as does their popular, successful fudge sales.
Executive Director Joanna Mack says it’s been difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, but she’s proud they were able to push through while continue providing excellent care for their occupants.
The fundraising goal is $300,000, and by the time the graduation event ended, they had raised just shy of $200,000. For more information on how to donate, visit graceandmercyky.org
