MORNING SPORTS BRIEFS 2/10/22

NFL

The NFL is looking to expand its brand even further overseas. The league announced Wednesday that four regular-season games will be played in Germany over the next four years. Two of the games will be played in Munich, and two in Frankfurt. The upcoming 2022 season will feature five international games. Three are already set for England, one in Mexico, and now one in Germany.

ESPN is locking up more years of the ever so popular “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli”, also known as the Manningcast. The network announced Wednesday that it expanded the agreement with Peyton Manning and his Omaha Productions company to run through the 2024 season. The broadcast made its debut this season on ESPN2 and had been set to run for three years, before the extension.

NHL

The Nashville Predators returned from the NHL All Star break with a 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars last night. Eeli Tolvanen, Matt Duchene and Yakov Trenin each scored for the Preds who host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

NBA

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies return to action this evening in Detroit against the Pistons. Tipoff is at 6 pm.

Golf

The PGA Tour’s Waste Management Phoenix Open begins today at TPC Scottsdale. Louisville area native Justin Thomas and Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker are in the field for the event.
