Progress continues in restoring power after severe weather outbreak

It could be a few days before everyone in Christian, Todd, Trigg and surrounding counties have their power back on, but crews are working as hard and as quickly as they can to make it happen.

Brent Gilkey with Pennyrile Electric says about 3,500 members were still without power Sunday morning, down from as many as 14,000 right after the severe weather Saturday morning.

He says the most difficult part of restoring power is replacing power grid infrastructure that’s been damaged or destroyed.

Gilkey asks for as much patience as folks can muster as it could take several days to get everyone re-connected.
