Guthrie councilmember indicted for forgery arraigned

The Guthrie city councilmember indicted for forgery was arraigned Wednesday in Todd Circuit Court.

As previously reported, 42-year old Doreen Lynch reportedly asserted she was not a convicted felon when she filed her papers to run for council in 2020 and Commonwealth’s Attorney Neil Kerr says investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office determined she had been previously convicted of evading arrest in Tennessee, which is a Class E felony.

Defense attorney Stephanie Mize entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and asked for a continuance until August, hopeful she will be able to work out a possible resolution by that time.

Lynch is charged with second-degree forgery and wrongful registration—both Class D felonies.

Todd Circuit Judge Joe Hendricks on Wednesday accepted that not guilty plea on her behalf and set the next proceeding for August 4.
