Sam Burns is atop the leaderboard after the first day of The Genesis Invitational. He shot a seven-under 64 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California to lead Max Homa and Matthew Fitzpatrick by two strokes. Eight others are tied for fourth at four-under. Campbellsville native JB Holmes is one under, Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is at even par and Louisville area native Justin Thomas is at six over par.
