Christian County wrapped up its season losing in the opening round of the Class 5A Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl to South Warren 36-6 Friday night in Bowling Green.
Cade Veltkamp threw four touchdown passes, two to Christian Conyers, the others to Nathan Neal and to Jantzen Dunn. The only Christian County score was a 57 yard pass from Donta Abren to Cameo Garden in the 4th quarter.
Christian County had 177 yards of offense, 190 passing but -13 yards rushing. L’Ray Coleman rushed for 36 yards in nine carries to lead the Colonels while JoJo Alexander caught two passes for 50 yards and JT Adams also had two receptions for 47 yards.
Christian County finished the season 1-5 while South Warren improved to 6-0 and will play Bowling Green next Friday night. Bowling Green downed Greenwood 35-7 in first round action.
