Ky. sees 371 new cases of COVID-19, nine new deaths

Kentucky saw 371 new cases of COVID-19, according to Governor Andy Beshear, with approximately 445,196 coronavirus tests having been performed in the state.

According to a news release, those 371 cases puts the overall total since the pandemic began at 17,519 and of that, at least 4,841 people have recovered from the virus.  Governor Beshear says, “We have worked too long and hard, and sacrificed too much, to squander the gains we have made in this fight. However, the only way to secure our safety is to recommit ourselves to doing what we all know is required of us: washing our hands frequently, staying at least six feet from others, avoiding crowds, getting tested frequently and cooperating with contact tracers if they call with information.”

Nine more Kentuckians have died, including a 70-year old woman from Logan County, bringing that total to 602 Kentuckians lost. The Governor has extended his executive order prohibiting price gouging.

In Tennessee, the Department of Health is reporting 1,359 new COVID-19 cases, along with 12 more deaths.  That puts the total in the Volunteer State at 53,514 cases and 665 deaths.  Montgomery County has 587 cases, Robertson County is at 855 and Stewart County is at 24 cases.
