A fire that damaged a home on Moores Drive Monday morning is being investigated as arson.
As previously reported, Hopkinsville firefighters were called to 207 Moores about 6:45 a.m. and determined the blaze had begun with a deep fryer. A woman and child who lived in the duplex were displaced by fire and smoke damage.
A Hopkinsville police report says a suspect assaulted the mother of his child earlier in the morning at that location before setting the fire. The occupants of the adjoining duplex were endangered by the fire, but were not injured.
No arrests have been made.
