A group representing Olympic hopefuls across the world has joinedthe chorus of voices lobbying to have the Summer Olympics postponed until the coronavirus pandemic is under control. Many individual athletes have already said they disagree with the current plan to start the Tokyo Games as scheduled on July 24 after the IOC said itis in consultation with the World Health Organization and believes it’s too early to make a decision.

NFL

Running back Kenyan Drake has agreed to remain with the Arizona Cardinals on a one-year, $8.5 million tender after the team placed the transition tag on him earlier this week. Drake could have sought a contract elsewhere, with Arizona having the opportunity to match.
The 26-year-old Alabama product was a midseason acquisition for the Cardinals last year and rushed for 643 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games with Arizona.

The Las Vegas Raiders and wide receiver Nelson Agholor have agreed to a one-year contract. Agholor spent his first five seasons with the
Philadelphia Eagles and had 39 catches for 363 yards with three touchdowns last season in 11 games while dealing with a knee injury.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has agreed to a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN. The 10-year veteran was acquired midseason by the 49ers to help in their run to the Super Bowl, providing 36 catches and 502 receiving yards in 10 games with San Francisco.

With Tom Brady’s official departure, the New England Patriots are weighing their options for the starting quarterback spot next season. Jarrett Stidham is currently the next man up, but the Pats may turn to outsiders. Both Andy Dalton and Cam Newton are expected to be released from their respective teams as the trade market dries up. The Pats may also look to acquire a quarterback in the upcoming draft.

NBA

According to reports, the NBA has no intention of canceling the 2019-2020 season. New Orleans Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said that the league’s focus is on getting back to play. He spoke on the Pelicans Playback social show and said cancelation isn’t on anyone’s mind.

MLB

On top of New York Yankee Aaron Judge’s fractured rib that sidelined him during Spring Training, he was also diagnosed with a punctured lung. Judge says that he’s going to remain in Tampa to rehab the injury and feels a sense of relief that he won’t be rushed back due to the league suspension.
