A Hopkinsville man was arrested on an assault charge following an altercation where a woman was struck by a vehicle Saturday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to Whitney Place for reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Investigation determined that 37-year old Darrell Maxie of Hopkinsville had allegedly been in an altercation with a woman when he allegedly attempted to run her over with a car.
He struck a different female victim who was at the location, causing injuries to her neck and back. The victim was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
Maxie was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
