Man arrested by HPD for alleged thefts

A Texas man has been arrested by Hopkinsville police for alleged thefts.

One warrant against 33-year old Gregory Kirksey of Houston alleges that in January of 2013, he took a flat screen television from a room he had rented at the Days Inn. He’s also accused of stealing the trash cans, iron, blankets, pillows and alarm clock.

The warrant says there is video of Kirksey removing the television and attempting to move the surveillance camera.

In November of 2013, Kirksey allegedly sold a stolen necklace and pendant to a local jeweler. That necklace was worth about $1,800, but was damaged beyond repair before being sold for $204.

Kirksey was arrested Saturday morning at a North Main Street location by Hopkinsville police and he’s charged with felony receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.
