MLK events set for Sunday in Elkton, Hopkinsville

There are Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day services Sunday in Elkton and Hopkinsville.

The local branch of the NAACP will host a service at 2:30 p.m. at Virginia Street Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. M.O. Fort is pastor.

Meanwhile, the Laity and Ministerial Alliance of Todd County will host its banner contest for local youth at 2 p.m. at the City-County Park and the march will go from there to Todd County Central High School at 2:30.

A program will begin at 3 p.m. at the school and the featured speaker will be Rev. Mike Cummins.

The public is invited to all of the events.
