With the final day to file Friday, the Christian County Clerk’s Office saw a slew of people filing to run for Hopkinsville City Council Thursday.
According to an update from the Clerk’s Office, Ward 10 incumbent Democrat Jimmy Dossett filed, along with Ward 11 incumbent Republican Jason Bell as both try to seek re-election. Filing to run as Republicans in Ward 10 are Nichole Eastman and Robert Almy.
In Ward 6, which already has its fair share of democratic candidates and is currently held by Democrat Wendell Lynch, Travis Martin filed to run as a republican. Republican candidate Dustin Gilbert has filed to seek the council seat in Ward 7.
With deadline on Friday, currently there will be a democratic primary in Wards 6 and 9 and a republican primary in Ward 10.
