UPDATED: Suspect killed in officer involved shooting in Elkton

 

Kentucky State Police have released additional details on an officer-involved shooting from Tuesday in Elkton.

A news release identifies 75-year old Roy Tucker of Allegre as the suspect who was pulled over in a traffic stop on East Main Street. Tucker reportedly brandished a firearm and exchanged gunfire with Elkton police Chief Robert Toombs and Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy David Hutcheson.

Todd County Coroner Timothy Wells pronounced Tucker dead at the scene. An autopsy was performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office earlier this week.

Kentucky State Police did not release any additional information on the incident
