A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Nortonville on Friday and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
According to a news release, it happened just before 8:15 p.m. on the bridge on Hopkinsville Street between Highway 62 and East Walnut Street in Nortonville when a pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Michael Stanley attempted to cross from the east side to the west side of the bridge.
That’s when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on Hopkinsville Street driven by 23-year-old Jordan Ross.
Stanley was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
