To encourage folks to get a jump start on holiday shopping while supporting local businesses, the Hopkinsville Sportsplex hosted its 6th annual Christmas in July Vendor Market on Saturday.
Sportsplex Assistant Programming Director Jason Wells says this year’s market featured 86 vendors selling a variety of goods, including clothing, desserts, 3D-printed items, and more.
The sportsplex is known for hosting sports events and tournaments, and Wells says Christmas in July brings people to the facility who may not typically come.
Hopkinsville resident Lisa Ewer is the owner of Whimsical Creations KY, and she crafts items such as birdbaths, birdhouses and wind chimes with vintage and recycled glass. This was Ewer’s sixth year selling her items as Christmas in July, and she says she loves that the event spotlights local creators and gives them a chance to beat the summer heat.
For those who missed out on Christmas in July, don’t worry, because the Holiday Hoopla Vendor and Craft Fair will be coming back to the sportsplex on October 24.
