CCSO deputies arrest man for assaulting law enforcement, healthcare workers

Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Jonathan Ghrist of Clarksville after he reportedly assaulted law enforcement and hospital staff while receiving medical care on Wednesday.

According to a report, deputies were dispatched to a location on Terry Lane for a subject, later identified as Ghrist, who was at a residence he was trespassed from.

While Ghrist was being transported to the Christian County Jail, he reportedly started threatening the arresting deputy saying that he would shoot them in the face once he gets released from jail. Ghrist then banged his head repeatedly on the glass partition in the cruiser, causing him to injure the his head.

At Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Ghrist fought with deputies and security staff while getting treated. Along with yelling, he reportedly headbutted a hospital security guard multiple times and the kicked the arresting deputy in the groin. Ghrist also allegedly made threatening statements to hospital security staff.

Ghrist was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree assault of a healthcare provider and second-degree disorderly conduct.
