The community is invited to come celebrate and honor our local veterans on November 8 for the Veteran’s Honor Parade in Hopkinsville.
This event is hosted by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, the Christian County Military Affairs Committee, the City of Hopkinsville and Christian Fiscal Court, and it will take place Saturday, November 8 at 10 a.m. in downtown.
The half-mile route will start at the War Memorial Building, make its way down Virginia Street, turn left onto East Ninth Street and end at the Christian County Justice Center. A float will be available for any veterans that would prefer to ride rather than walk—all veterans are invited to take part.
There will be a short ceremony at the Justice Center following the parade, where the winners of the JROTC Challenge and the sidewalk saluters will be announced. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside the memorial building.
Supporting sponsors are Veterans of Foreign War Post 1913, VFW Hopkinsville Auxiliary, WHOP Radio and the Hopkinsville D.A.V.
