A Hopkinsville man is facing numerous charges following a vehicle pursuit on December 23 that began as an investigation into a stolen vehicle.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers attempted to make contact with a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Allen Shaw of Hopkinsville, which is when Shaw allegedly fled from police, ignoring directives to stop and disregarding multiple traffic control devices.
At some point during the pursuit, Shaw allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, before he was taken into custody on Smith Road. Shaw reportedly admitted to driving the vehicle during the pursuit.
Shaw was arrested and charged with felony theft of an automobile, two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police and multiple traffic violations.
