KY 70 bridge in Hopkins County has reopened following months of construction

Construction on a bridge in Hopkins County is finally complete following several months of work.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the KY 70 bridge over Richland Creek in Hopkins County is now open to traffic following a little more than five months of construction work.

The $1.5 million state highway improvement project began on June 24 and was completed at around 2 p.m. Thursday. The new structure replaces a bridge that was constructed in 1965.

The bridge carries around 2,000 vehicles per day between Madisonville and the Beulah area.
