Governor Andy Beshear addressed his vice president candidacy speculations and endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee at Thursday’s Team Kentucky Update.
Before opening to questions, Beshear made a statement saying he is honored to be considered for the role of vice president and he will do everything he can to ensure that Harris is the country’s next president.
Discussing the presidential election, Beshear said he believes Harris can be the president to overcome the political division taking over the nation.
Beshear is among other democratic politicians such as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and Arizona State Senator Mark Kelly who other speculated candidates. Although he is honored to be seen as a good option for vice president, Beshear says he plans to finish out his second term as governor.
