The Christian County Health Department is inviting the community to their annual Back to Health Block Party where there will be fun for the whole family as well as information regarding health-related resources.
Cloie Rager from the health department appeared on WHOP on Wednesday and shared that the annual block party started after the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to connect people to community resources while engaging with them through fun activities.
Rager says they have around 20 community partners and at the block party they will be providing information concerning insurance, health information and medical services. Along with the resources that will be available to attendees, Rager says they will have a video game and virtual reality trailer, a petting zoo and a face painting booth.
Attendees will also get a chance to learn more about the health department. Rager says people will be able to meet health department staff and they will also have mobile units providing services.
Rager says they are still taking community partners and they register by this evening by calling her at 270-887-4160 ext. 108.
The block party is set for Thursday, May 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Christian County Health Department located at 1700 Canton St.
