The community came together to cut the ribbon on the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention and Visitors Bureau Batter Bus and to celebrate Amy Rogers for recently taking on the role of executive director on Tuesday.
The Batter Bus which Rogers has dubbed, “Sasha Cake” has been out on the road for less than a year. Rogers says the bus was instrumental for transportation when a delegation from Hopkinsville’s sister city Carentan, France visited in February.
Rogers says the Batter Bus will also play a vital role when the bureau hosts their regional distillery tours and Edgar Cayce tours. With the bus, she also plans to host more tours spotlighting local destinations.
Rogers was named the interim director of the bureau in February before receiving the title of executive director in March and she says it still feels surreal. Rogers says her love and passion for the community and the people in it makes it easy for her to do her job.
